Social Security Tax Documents now available via website

24 Feb Social Security Tax Documents now available via website

Because I am a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) who works in the greater Asheville area, I work with a lot of small businesses as well as those who have retired to the area.  When tax  preparation time comes around sometimes we are in a situation where a form has been lost in the mail.  When that form was the SSA-1099 or SSA-1042S that meant calling and requesting a new copy.  That of course takes quite a bit of time for it to be generated and mailed out to the client.   However, it looks like we will now be able to go online and print another copy.  What great news.  Below is the emailed information that was shared with me by a client.  According to the website, you will be able to set up an online log in where you can make changes to your Social Security account and receive a replacement tax document SSA-1099 or SSA-1040S.  More information  is listed below.
