13 Feb Don’t forget Open Enrollment for ACA Insurance ends February 15
Advice from your local CPA:
As a local Asheville / Weaverville area CPA I see the need for locals to sign up for insurance. The Open Enrollment Period ends February 15th. If you miss this deadline you may be required to wait until the 2016 open enrollment period to sign up. The Federal Government, through the Affordable Healthcare Act, is offering significant assistance so there is no reason not to look into coverage.

Tax Penalties for no coverage:
In 2015, penalties are $325 per adult and $162.50 per child, up to $975 per family — or 2 percent of family income above the federal tax filing threshold. That’s up from $95 per adult and $47.50 per child, up to $285 per family — or 1 percent of family income above the specified threshold in 2014.
